Thank you for requesting information about ComfortCare Homes and our unique alternative to traditional institutional nursing home care. Our family pioneered the concept of non-threatening personal care and protection in a true residential setting right here in Wichita. Since 1993, and born out of our own family needs, we have perfected this outstanding model of care and as a result there are now more than twenty ComfortCare Homes in four states. ComfortCare Homes are warm and cozy, ranch style single family homes located in Wichita's finest neighborhoods. Health care professionals repeatedly state that a personal care home with only a few compatible Residents, interacting and bonding as a family in a familiar setting, provide the memory impaired a less frustrating and much calmer atmosphere than is found in nursing institutions or assisted living facilities. We are very successful in caring for memory loss disorders ranging from early memory loss to end stage. Our professional staff in Wichita consists of specialists in Alzheimer's Dementia; three staff nurses directing care, and an Activities Specialist, along with LPN's and Certified Medication Aids. ComfortCare Homes are licensed by the State of Kansas and are electronically secure at all times. Because of our reputation for caring about as well as for our Residents, physicians, nurses, attorneys, educators, and other professionals have chosen ComfortCare Homes to provide care for their family members, over the other options available. Enclosed you will find information on our model of personal care. After you have viewed the material I would suggest a visit to one of our homes so that you can see firsthand what our extraordinary concept offers. Quoting a member of one of our Resident's families, "she deserves the very best, after all it's my mom."
