The Meadows offers a comfortable, convenient and gracious living environment for older adults. Situated in a unique residential neighborhood in Old Town, The Meadows contains sixteen private handicapped-accessible bedrooms. It offers complete assisted living support services to promote maximum independence of its residents. Built specifically as a residential care facility in 1998, we have one of the safest buildings in the city with fire walls and sprinkler systems that are routinely checked and maintained. We have a wide variety of activities, outings and special events throughout the year, beautiful flower gardens and a raised platform garden that residents enjoy working. We are close to the University of Maine and within easy walking distance to the bus route to Bangor. We have a facility bus with a wheelchair lift to help residents get to appointments and to activities outside our facility. We do a "sittersize" exercise program twice a week and are close to the YMCA for those who wish to use its facilities which includes a heated pool, gym and various exercise programs. We create a care plan suited to each individual and assist them to acquire services we cannot provide.
