    We are a non-profit governed by a board elected by local churches. Tyler is a quiet “safe” community. Danebod Village is a quieter community on the edge of town. Family atmosphere. Costs are as low as we can keep them. Living here is better than being “in your own home” because we do the work and you never have to be lonely.

    Eligibility requirements:
    Must be mobile. Able to get self dressed and to the dining room. Should be able to manage incontinence. Minnesota Elderly Waiver program and Group Residential housing are accepted.

    Our head cook is certified. Her training is updated as required. Any nursing services are contracted by the residents from Tyler Healthcare. They are all well trained.

    Because we are not geared for Alzheimer’s patients- in fact none of our residents are “patients”: they are basically healthy. But diminished mental functioning “works” here until we have any reason to think a resident would wander, refuse to take pills from compu-med, exhibit hostile behavior, or do anything else that could cause harm to self.

    Several pastors make regular visits. Lutheran pastor offers communion monthly. Bingo twice/week. Weight bearing exercises 5 days a week. Group singing 4 days a week.

    All elderly who are mobile are welcome. We are here for those who are in pretty good shape, but enjoy eating with others, a good meal they didn’t have to cook.
