    Sherwood Assisted Living offers the luxury of maintaining independence while providing privacy in a home like setting without the responsibility of preparing meals, maintenance, daily housekeeping, laundry and added household expense. Sherwood Assisted Living is locally owned and operated and has been providing the highest quality of service in the community since 1974. Unlike most assisted living communities, Sherwood Assisted Living is staffed with 24-hour licensed nursing care and 24-hour trained care staff. Sherwood Assisted Living offer help with activities of daily living such as providing assistance with dressing, toileting and showering, medication monitoring and delivery. Sherwood Assisted Living promotes an atmosphere where residents live meaningful and comfortable lives with dignity. Residents are assessed and allowed to function independently at their level of ability, while providing care and assistance where needed. Memory Care Sherwood Assisted Living also provides a secure environment for those with Alzheimer’s disease and memory related impairments. This area offers residents a choice of comfortable and furnished private or semi-private room accommodations designed with the special needs of our residents in mind. Staff are trained in the Gentle Care method designed to provide the best possible care to residents with memory loss. A secure outdoor courtyard, patio and indoor and outdoor activities add to the quality of life enjoyed by our residents. Respite/Short Stay Respite care is also offered for those who may need assistance from a few hours to a several weeks. The same personalized quality care and services are provided for those who come for respite as those who choose to reside permanently. Sherwood Assisted Living is conveniently located next door to a Medical Plaza for easy access to medical appointments. Sherwood Assisted Living...Assisted Living with a Difference! Room Accommodations To meet the individual needs of our residents various accommodations are available. Single, large single and one bedroom apartments may be rented. One bedroom apartments are equipped with small kitchenettes. Each room is furnished with a bed, night stand and wing chair, along with a built in dresser and closet. Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture in place of, or in addition to, what is provided and to surround themselves with personal belongings to add to their comfort. Linens are also provided. A locked drawer is available in each room as well as individually controlled thermostats. Nurse call lights are provided by the bed, toilet and by the showers, making them easily accessible when assistance is needed. Telephone jacks and cable hook-ups are provided in each room. Internet and HD TV hookups are also available. Full Meal Service Three nutritious and delicious meals are provided each day with direct table service. Entrée choices are available at each meal. Homemade soups, freshly baked breads, salad bar and dessert cart enhance the dining experience. Fruit and beverages are available in each dining room. The three lovely dining rooms look onto park-like courtyards and are located in close proximity to resident rooms. Residents may host guests for a nominal fee.     We provide Nurse Delegation, Fundamental of Care Giving, Modified Fundamentals of Care Giving, State requried Mental Illness and Dementia Training. We provide 10 hours of continuing education as requried by state. We also provide certification and recertification of CPR and First Aid
