    Known for our expertise in providing care for those with memory impairments, Somerford Place of Fresno was purpose built to meet our residents' special needs. With spacious grounds and a warm, homelike interior, our residents are encouraged and empowered as we care for them on their journey. Our comprehensive dementia program includes exceptional resident care, an expansive activities program which promotes socialization, and a superb dining program.     Staff certifications and training:
    Our team members are required to participate in 3 full days of orientation and dementia training. We also provide 3-4 days of on-the-job shadow training before working independently. Team members also attend a minimum of 1 hour per month of ongoing training and any licensed professionals are required to maintain their minimum licensing requirements as dictated by the state of California.

    There are very few conditions that would prohibit our staff from being able to provide care for these residents. These conditions are outlined in the state of California regulations manual. However, if someone were to develop a medical need that requires skilled nursing care then they may have to transfer to another facility. Each situation is evaluated independently.

    Somerford offers an incredible activities program and subscribes to the Five Star Quality Care "Revelations" program, which is based on the montessori philosophy and allows us to specialize our care plans and activities to meet the needs of each resident.

    The Somerford Place activity program offers special events for our residents and their families on a monthly basis. We offer weekly Bilble studies and church services on site. Bingo, live musical entertainment, exercise classes and special educational classes provided by Fresno Adult School are also offered weekly.
