    At Summer Dream Assisted Living, we provide the quality care and pleasant surroundings you deserve and above all we offer our nurture and love. We are a place that offers a safe environment where friends and family are always welcome to visit. That is what makes us one of the finest assisted living homes in the county of San Bernardino. We have a beautiful residential setting that provides a relaxing, home-like environment for the elderly. We have tastefully furnished rooms with wheelchair access to the outside, where our residents can enjoy the serene environment that our garden provides. We provide focused attention and care for all our clients with a dedicated and loving care giver always on site, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Our basic services include: three nutritionally well balanced meals and various snacks (modified diets and preferences taken into account), laundry service, room cleaning, assistance with bathing and grooming, transferring from bed or chair, incontinence care, bedside care for minor ailments, daily observation of residents' general health, medication assistance, transportation to local medical and dental appointments, and all other needs that are seen fit. Residents are encouraged to participate in a variety of planned activities to maintain and/or improve their independence, as well as contribute to the activity process.     Staff certifications and training:
    Summer Dream is fully licensed by the California State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division. Our Administrator is fully certified and has completed and keeps up to date all necessary training. All caregivers are fingerprinted and have up to date first-aid training. Caregivers perform ten hours of initial training and then have two hour monthly training sessions. Caregivers are trained in (but not limited to): the aging process, special needs, techniques of personal care services, Medication procedures, resident rights, recognizing early signs and symptoms of illness, elder and dependent abuse training, emergency disaster plan, DNR/No codes, incident reporting, theft and loss, resident activities and socialization, principles of good nutrition, food preparation and storage, housekeeping, dementia care, 911 procedure, etc.

    Special care programs offered for Alzheimer's and Dementia residents:
    Staff is fully trained for specific needs. Summer Dream also has activities which are designed to promote the resident's functional ability. The goal is to carefully match the abilities of each resident to an appropriate activity to enhance their mental and physical functioning. Types of activities include (but are not limited to): social activities (pet therapy, entertainment, celebration of holidays and birthdays), sensory stimulation (board games, bingo, sing along, folding clothes, brushing teeth, watering plants, cleaning the room), large motor skills (chair stretching, catching and throwing a ball, walking), outings (park, senior center, out to eat), and of course free time.

    The Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center has many recreational activities outside of our own. Clients can make their own requests of which activities they would like to attend, such as: church, clubs, game nights, etc.
