    About My Business
One of the original memory care community in Portland, Emerson House was founded in 2000 by Kinsel Ameri Properties, Inc., and continues today under their local ownership and oversight.

Our three residential environments help us to meet each's person care cognitive, and social needs. Our four progressive levels of care ensure that each person gets the appropriate level of assistance with their daily living and medical needs, and our person-centered approach to care means all services are delivered in a manner that respects the individual's relationships, life experiences, abilities and preferences.

A circular floor plan on our Middle and Upper terraces provides easy access to shared living, dining, activity and outdoor areas on each floor and a continuous walking opportunity throughout the day.

Our Lower Terrace offers an intimate, homelike environment for seven residents and opens into a beautiful courtyard that is enjoyed by all our residents and families.

The Emerson House philosophy is to help each person be as independent as possible for as long as possible. Because contributing to a community has been a part of so many residents' lives, they are encouraged to participate in any way that they are able. This may be as simple as helping set the table for family style meals, folding laundry or assisting with an activity.

Our award winning activity program offers a diverse program of activities inside Emerson House, and our partnership with Urban Excursions provides residents the opportunity to go to points of interest around Portland and beyond accompanied by our Life Enrichment staff.

Optional primary care service is provided by Housecall Providers and Kaiser Permanente's Primary Care at Home. Residents may also elect to keep their own doctor. Monthly dental and foot care clinics are offered for the convenience of all residents.

Family members are encouraged to visit regularly and participate in the activities and experiences of Emerson House. Family members receive key fobs which give them 24/7 access to Emerson House. Family input is crucial in allowing us to support both our residents and our families. We also offer a monthly family support group, special seminars and holiday gatherings that allow families to connect with each other.
    About My Services
Nestled in in the middle of the historic Division/Clinton neighborhood with lively neighborhood cafes, shops and coffee houses with easy walking distance, Emerson House continues the neighborhood tradition of providing a safe and welcoming place for families. But what’s more important than what’s outside is what happens inside. Behind our unassuming brick exterior is a haven for people in all stages of dementia. As one of the first Alzheimer’s communities in Portland, we have led the way in creating a specially designed environment for individuals with memory care challenges and a supportive environment for families. Our convenient location, proximity to three major medical centers and partnerships with outside service providers allow us to provide you and your loved one with an exceptional level of care and convenience.

    Our amenities include:

    Care Staff on Site
Our staff works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, following the Emerson House philosophy to help each person be as independent as possible for a long as possible. An emergency call system puts residents in immediate contact with staff if an emergency arises.

    Award Winning Activity Program
Emerson House residents enjoy activities for body, mind and spirit including outings, walks around the neighborhood, exercise, games, discussions, gardening, helping activities, art, music, pet visits and social events to name just a few.

    Three Delicious Meals a Day
Emerson’s House Food Service Director is Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) and Certified Dietary Manager with a passion for serving, delicious homestyle meals. Together, with her staff, she prepares three home cooked meals and snacks, with accommodations for special diets, each day. Dining rooms on each floor make it easy for residents to socialize or to get the extra help they need.
