The Cook Adult Home is located in a building built in the 1800's and it sits on a hill with a beautiful front porch overlooking the City of Mechanicville and the mountains of Vermont. The home is just 6 miles off the Northway at Clifton Park, in the Capital District of NY andf 20 minutes from downtown Saratoga Springs and 25 minutes from Albany. Our home is as close to living in your own home as possible. We have a very small facility (13 beds)and offer the best in 24 hour awake personal care service and a very homelike environment. The food is home cooked and tailored to the residents and the staff has been consistent for many years. Staff does not wear uniforms and provides an in home kind of personal service. We treat residents like they are in their home providing drinks and snacks on request and personal services as needed. We manage all medications, provide all personal care services, provide all cleaning, laundry services, activity schedule, and a weekly outing with the owner to fine restaurants, boat rides, the circus, etc. Our typical resident has some dementia. If my parent or parents needed an assisted living situation, this is where I'd want them to be as they always enjoyed staying at Inn's around the country and this experience matches that experience.
