    Barton House is a small home-like community with only 16 residents. Our trained staff is exceptional when working with those who have dementia. We offer free meals to our visiting families and provide an independent but secure environment for your loved one to live. All of our rooms are private and fully furnished. We offer assistance with medications, dressing, bathing and grooming. Our program is designed to last ten hours a day, seven days a week. We are located in the lovely North West Austin area, close to where Parmer Lane and Mopac intersect. Please contact us to schedule a tour today!

    Eligibility requirements:
    We are a private pay community. You must have a diagnosis of some form of dementia to live at Barton House.

    Staff certifications and training:
    Barton House is a Certified Alzheimer's Residence. All of our staff is trained 8 hours in class and 16 hours on the floor before starting their duties. We have exceptional staffing ratios that exceed state requirements during certain times of the day and night. We are staffed 24 hours a day; we always have someone awake and trained to help your loved one. Our staff is required to complete 12 hours of ongoing training throughout the year.

    The two most likely diminished abilities to cause someone to need more care are: Being in a bed bound state and not able to transfer. Not able to assist with medication dosing, i.e., not being able to swallow medications properly, even if they are crushed and mixed in food.
    Special care programs offered for Alzheimer's and Dementia residents:
    Our program is seven days a week for ten hours a day. We focus our day around taking care of ourselves, our home and having a good time. Our environment is set up for our residents to function as independently as possible.

    We have monthly entertainment that comes to Barton House. We will have several concerts in a one month time span. We host a happy hour every Friday with a theme for the day. We offer a picnic lunch every Saturday.
