    The Wheeler House is a Senior Assisted Living Community. Come in and experience a home like environment with the aroma of fresh baked cookies as you walk in the door. Enter into a place where each resident becomes a member of the family. Each apartment is private with a kitchenette, and private bath. All bathrooms are handicapped accessable with handrails installed. Apartments are individually climate controlled and have emergency pull cords. We offer a liberalized diet created by our licensed dieticians and are dedicated to wellness in all of our residents. We provide as little or as much assistance as you need.

    Staff certifications and training:
    Floor staff are titled: Personal Service Assistants. Minimum standards to apply are: must be able to read, write, and speak English, must pass a criminal background check, must be over the age of 18, experience in the medical field or long term healthcare (preferred). Medication Assistant training offered to select staff members after 30 days of employment. Medication training is broken into three phases including: Practical: Shadowing of an experienced medication assistant, 16 hours of classroom time, followed by a final exam, and a Medication pass observation conducted by the RN, Wellness Director. Medication Assistant Quality Reviews are performed annually. Continuing education is offered twice a month on various topics as required by State Regulations.

    Bingo offered in house 4 days/week, Methodist Church offers open Bible Study on Sunday morning, Presbyterian Church offers an open Bible Study on Tuesday Mornings, Ladies Manicures are on Tuesday afternoons. There are numerous churches of all denomination within the area. Lake Kiowa (private community) is within a 10 minute drive as well as Moss Lake. Lake Texoma is also a short drive away. Windstar Casino is approximately 20 minutes north in Oklahoma. Curves womens fitness center is located within 5 minutes of residence. Many quaint "downtown" shops and diners are located on the square within minutes of the residece.

    The residence is occupied by a variety of people. Some residents have sensory impairments, while others do not. Residents are retired engineers, teachers, nurses, librarians, mechanics, retail personnel, ect. Staff assist families in aquiring Veteran assistance benefits available to Veterans, spouses, and Widows of Veterans living in assisted living communities.
