    About Us Curlew Care is an Assisted Living Facility with Extended Care license. Curlew Care is dedicated to caring for Seniors with memory impaired disorders and Early stages of Alzheimer's disease. Our home provides a loving and caring atmosphere which is dedicated to helping our residents retain their rights and dignity as long as possible. It is important to realize that special skills and knowledge are required to care for a family member with Alzheimer's or other memory impairment. The challenges of caring for a loved one with memory impairment can simply be beyond the ability of the family. Our staff is trained to handle these needs with caring, patience, professional technique and courtesy. Our memory impaired residents live in a secured environment, essential for the safety and peace of mind of the residents and their families. Curlew Care is an Assisted Living Facility for those who seek a place to call home. Services Our Facility offers a very extended list of capabilities because of our licensing, our specific trainings and collaboration with different high specialized companies (Home Health Care, Hospice Care, Alzheimer's association, Doctor counselor etc.). Listed below is a comprehensive list of services we offer to our residents. Three Daily Balanced Home-Cooked Meals Special Diets Available by Licensed Dietitian (diabetic, low salt, etc) Complimentary snacks, coffee tea, milk and fruit juice available 24 hours a day at our Refreshment Center 24 hours Assistance and Supervision with medication and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing and ambulating Daily housekeeping and laundry service and basic linen services Active social, cultural activities and Wellness programs Beauty shop on site Full medical services in-house (Medicare/cache) Lab services in-house Rehabilitation services available on site Extended Care (ECC) services available on site Home Health Care Services available on site Hospice services available on site Levels of Care There are four levels of care, depending the needs of our residents. LEVEL ONE (basic assistance) Minimal assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's) to included simple cueing with direction to the bathroom, verbal direction with hygiene care. Able to ambulate independently with no assistance from staff. Able to eat independently with no assistance from staff other than food preparation and serving. Continent of bowel and bladder. Able to recognize need for bathroom use. Able to take medications with minimal assistance from staff such as maintaining medications in safe, locked area, bringing medications at time directed on label and visually watching residents take medications according to direction. Able to shower or bath with staff assisting by gathering necessary items for bathing, removing items and straighten bath area after completion. LEVEL TWO (some assistance) Hands on assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's) to included laying out clothing chosen by resident, direction to proper sequence of activities, hands on help in areas needed. Ambulate with walker, wheelchair or staff assistance such as holding walker or wheelchair while resident transfers independently, walking with or holding hand of resident. Feeds self with some assistance with eating such as cutting food and giving first couple of bites when needed to "jump start". Continent but needs assistance with caring for self such as hygiene and using cleaning tools. Needs regular assistance with supervision of administered medication such as licensed staff bringing medication to resident at designated time and insuring the medications are taken properly, documenting such. Able to partially shower, bath with staff assisting by cleaning hard to reach areas and assuring bathing is completed properly. Needs grooming completed by staff such as physically helping to comb hair, brush teeth, etc. LEVEL THREE (medium assistance) Needs regular assistance with ambulation as unable to walk alone due t
