    Lexington Care Center is located in a beautiful rural setting within a quiet residential neighborhood. Lexington Missouri, located 45 minutes from Kansas City, is noted for its historic architecture and civil war re-inactments held thorughout the year. We at Lexington Care Center believe in treating our residents like members of our family and we want our residents families to be part of our community. We strive to have indivuals live up to their highest potential and encourage our resident to be involved in facility life. We offier a specialized Alzheimer's unit which provides the best of care to the most volnurable seniors. Lexington Care Center provides a wide range of care from assisted living to heavy skilled care.     Dedicated Staff on Alzheimer's Unit recieve annual traning on disease process. Staff facility wide have on going traing annually on site.

    If a condition where to result in harm to someone els or another resident discharge would be considered. Only when we can not meet the needs of an individual do we DC from the unit usually we refer for psychiatric care for medication stablization.
    Special care programs offered for Alzheimer's and Dementia residents:
    Daily acitvity schedule which stimulates memory and re-inforces self care as much as possible. Daily journaling for memory loss if possible. Hand message to assist with calming the individual. Off unit activities with other members of facility to play Bingo etc. All activities are available to individuals on the Alzheimer's unit

    Volunteer orginizations come into the facility on regular basis involved with multiple churchesin the community for church services 2-3x weekly Volunteers from Veterans Association come in on regurlar basis to meet with residents, Bingo done daily at 2 in the afternoon and on Monday Wensday and Saturday night Involved with community theater group who intertain residents Local high school band comes during the school year,Local Military academy comes out during national holidays for flag ceremony
