    Arbor Place Assisted Living is one of the many lifestyle options offered by The Meth-Wick Community a respected continuing care retirement community nestled on 61 wooded acres in Cedar Rapids Iowa. This active retirement community offers six distinct areas of living and a range of lifestyle choices, from complete independence to varying degrees of health services. Arbor Place's offers cottage style living with each cottage having its own kitchen and living room, and promoting a home-like environment for the eight residents in each cottage. The Meth-Wick Community is a charitable not-for-profit corporation established in 1961.

    Eligibility requirements:
    Arbor Place is for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive losses or early stages of dementia. An application, financial form and medical history form are required for consideration of residency.

    Staff certifications and training:
    The staff is required by state law to have a minimum of 6 hours of dementia specific training. Additionally the organization offers a minimum of 12 hours of training annually to all staff. Food safety and sanitation is required for staff who serves food. Some staff may hold more advanced certifications such as certified nursing assistant, certified medication assistant.
    Memory Care
    The entire facility is dedicated to the care of Alzheimer's and Dementia sufferers.

    Special care programs offered for Alzheimer's and Dementia residents:
    Arbor Place is designed to provide 24 hour care and supervision to individuals with memory impairment. The 32 bed facility is divided into four eight-bedroom cottages which foster the small and secure environment that is beneficial to residents with memory loss.
