Westland Convalescent & Rehab Center (WCRC) has been privately owned since its inception in 1969. The Director of Operations, Judith G. Caroselli, RN, NHA has been with the company since 1972 and leads a staff of diverse professionals who, too, have been dedicated and loyal to the organization for many years—resulting in a well earned, fabulous reputation. For many staff, not only have they cared for each other's parents but are now caring for the next generation of folks who once admitted their own parents here years ago. The Center is renovated on a consistent basis to maintain a highly professional, yet warm environment. We are located in the middle of a vibrant community with mall shopping and many delectable restaurants within walking distance or a short car ride away. WCRC is a teaching facility with nursing students from Schoolcraft College and dental students from University Detroit Mercy utilizing this as a clinical training site. Our Rehab team is directed by Lori Heavener, MOTA and they keep a busy schedule with our numerous monthly short term admissions coming to us specifically for our rehab services. The entire rehab team is staff members and not contracted as you will find in most other skilled facilities. The Rehab department is vibrant, active and actually an enjoyable part of most people's day. Our nursing staff boasts the highest rate of stability in the nation. You will find the same wonderful nurses here time-after-time and year-after-year. Our nursing assistants are critically selected to provide that crucial hands-on care at high levels of excellence you expect. Many have been employed for ten years or longer. All the other staff from dining, housekeeping, social service, activities etc. are simply wonderful human beings who are honored to take the responsibility of caring for those entrusted to us. We will do what it takes each step of the way to assure you are not only pleased, but dazzled by our care and service. We are here for short term stays needing physical rehabilitation, complex care after a hospitalization, or just when you need us the most.
