    Manor Oaks is located in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, within 2 miles of 3 leading hospitals. We are conveniently located to both the Florida Turnpike and Interstate 95, and just 1/4 mile west of US 1 (Federal Highway). Along with a standard of excellence that is unrivaled in this area, we assist each resident in obtaining their optimal level of independence whether the need be for dementia care, rehabilitation, restorative, or long-term care.     Eligibility requirements:
    Residents must be referred to us by physician order. Certain medical information is required before admission, such as History and Physical, Chest X-ray, and Physician Orders for medication, treatments, and diet. Florida also requires a PASSR form to be submitted before admission. For Private Pay Residents, we require one month payment at the time of admission. We also accept Florida Medicaid (approved). For Residents coming from a hospital, and who have a three-day qualifying stay, we accept Medicare and many HMOs.

    Staff certifications and training:
    Our staff is trained in dementia-related programming and redirection techniques. They are also trained in Resident Rights, Life Safety, Accident Prevention, Abuse Recognition, Infection Control, HIV/AIDs, Nutrition, End of Life Care, Falls Prevention, CPR, Dealing with Cognitively Impaired Residents, or Residents with Difficult Behavior, Federal and State Requirements, and more as needed. All training sessions are held at least annually.

    Special care programs offered for Alzheimer's and Dementia residents:
    Our Life Enhancement Program is designed for the resident with some type of mental disability, such as Dementia. This is defined as a symptom of deterioration of our intellectual abilities resulting from an unspecified disease or disorder of the brain. At Manor Oaks, we believe in having our residents live life to the fullest. Our Life Enhancement Program is designed for the mentally challenged person to still be able to perform the regular activities of daily living, and also to be able to participate in leisure activities individualized for their interest. In addition to having a routine consisting of bathing, grooming, meals, hydration, naps, and exercise, our residents are also involved in regular programs from the Activities Calendar, such as bingo, entertainment, music therapy, ice cream socials, cocktail parties, and outings.
