    Living in The Suites, residents can feel confident, knowing they’ll receive the supportive services they need. Similar to assisted living, residential care provides daily assistance with activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming, medication management and healthcare coordination. Our dedicated staff treat residents with respect, taking time to get to know them, their health status and their personal preferences. As an affiliate of Mon General Hospital, The Suites offers expert care. Our dedicated professionals including licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants, are available around the clock. Our Director of Residential Care, a registered nurse, will work closely with the resident, their family and their physician to create a custom care plan to optimize their health and their independence. Residents choose from attractive alcove and one-bedroom apartments. These lovely apartment homes offer wall to wall carpeting, mini-blinds, individual thermostats, spacious closets and kitchenettes- perfect for making tea or warming up a bedtime snack. Large private bathrooms have walk-in shower stalls with seats and safety railings. Residents make their home their own by bringing their favorite furnishings and by decorating with family photos, artwork and other treasured mementoes. The Suites lovely campus amenities expand living space and options. Residents may enjoy visiting the library and computer lab; joining the fun in the card and game room, the Great Room or the arts and crafts studio; or stretching in the exercise room. For convenience, additional amenities are located within The Suites, including a beautiful dining room, an inviting lounge, a living room, a gazebo and a multipurpose space for community events. Residents of The Suites, have many opportunities to meet neighbors and enjoy their companionship, or to join in events that spark their interest. Our full calendar of activities boasts games, crafts, cooking, exercise, planned outings, holiday activities and just plain fun! Naturally residents may participate in as many- or as few- programs as they wish. For people who need a little support on a daily basis, but wish to enjoy continued independence and privacy, The Suites at Heritage Point offers a wonderful lifestyle. When residents chose to live in a residential care apartment, they gain the security of knowing they’ll have just the right amount of assistance with daily tasks and personal care- never more than wanted or needed. In addition, residents become a part of a welcoming community of people who offer their friendship, yet respect their privacy.     Staff certifications and training:
    The Suites at Heritage Point is licensed by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources' (WVDHHR's) Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification (OHFLAC) as a Residential Care Community. Our Director of Residential Care is a registered nurse who has her bachelors degree in nursing (BSN). Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are on duty twenty four hours per day and only nurses administer medications. Certified and non-certified nursing assistants assist residents with activities of daily living. All nursing staff working in The Suites at Heritage Point have at minimum CPR certification, Food Handlers and First Aide Training. The Suites’ nursing staff are provided all orientations and education outlined in the WVDHHR/OHFLAC Residential Care Community Regulations. Staff receive annual (or more frequently as determined by the Director of Residential Care and the Executive Director) continuing education and retraining.
