    Staff certifications and training:
    Prior to beginning the job, all employees must complete orientation to include: new resident rights & values of community based care, new abuse & reporting requirements, standard precautions and infection control (Blood Borne Pathogens DVD with pre & post tests, fire safety and emergency procedures, written job description and food handlers’ card if preparing food).

    Caregiver Training-training programs have to have demonstration of performance capability through quizzes for knowledge based issues and return demonstrations for physical tasks. All caregivers must demonstrate satisfactory performance in any duty assigned. All required topics must be demonstrated as above within the 1st 30 days of hire. Caregivers can only be assigned tasks they have been trained in. Caregivers must be directly supervised until training/demonstrations are complete. 12 hours of in-service training annually is required. Documentation of training & proficiency must be maintained.
