    About My Services
    Activities Therapy Program
    • Daily dance/movement and exercise: Residents are kept fit and energized by engaging in morning stretch groups and a walking program throughout the day.
    • Music and drama therapy: Our activity team includes a certified music therapist and a registered drama therapist, who collaborate using improvisation, songs, humor and rhythmic instruments to engage the residents in creative self-expression. This work was recently documented for inclusion in a public television special on alternative approaches to healing.
    • Field trips: The Swindells program has its own deluxe, custom designed recreational vehicle for resident outings. The Bay Area abounds with beautiful, scenic spots within a short drive of the Swindells Program Center. Residents are taken out frequently to enjoy the sights.
    • Pet therapy: regular animal visits.
    • Monthly parties
    • Live music performances
    • Spiritual resources: non-denominational chaplain to our program to lead groups centered on spiritual themes. Chaplains are also available by appointment to meet individually with residents and families.
    • Volunteer program: Volunteers, who are often in training for recreational or creative arts therapy certification, assist our regular activity staff in providing ongoing recreational stimulation.
