We offer resident centered care and activities. Staff ratio is 1/4 to allow residents and caregivers to get to know one another. We then individualized activities either one-to-one or small group. Examples would include sensory stimulation through music we have a lovely piano, several taped concerts and invite in variety of musicians to preform. Sing-a-longs and easy to use instruments are favorites. Many residents enjoy going out to the local high school musicals or concerts in the park. We have visited the bird sancturary, a county fair, an apple orchard and a llhama farm. We decorate for all holidays for fun and to help with orientation. We invite chidren and animals to visit. We enroll residents in the library for the blind and hearing impaired if indicated to receive enhanced books on tape. Interested residents are provided opportunity for gardening or just enjoying the beautifully landscaped grounds. Cooking out on the grill on our large deck is a favorite. Helping to prepare simple meals or helping to plan the menu and grocery lists around the table in our family style kitchen is another activity that the ladies enjoy. The enviornment is designed for easy navigation for those that are physically impaired or who have low vision. Lovely bird aviary and large aquarium both which provide opportunity for lively discussion are located in the gathering room. We are always looking for new ideas and adventures that the residents, their friends and families provide.
