    Highlights
Garvey Manor and Our Lady of the Alleghenies Residence is a Catholic Long Term Care facility providing Nursing Care and Personal Care (Assisted Living) in a modern, residential style environment. The facility is co-sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm and the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. Quality of care and Quality of life are primary elements of all our care and services. Our MISSION is to promote and provide personal and professional care in an atmosphere which reflects Christ's compassion, love and concern for the elderly. We have a strong Catholic identity in the facility, but persons of all faiths are welcome. We have dedicated and caring staff members who attend to the residents with an attitude of ministry, not just as a job to be performed. A warm and hospitable environment in an attractive setting lends dignity to the home-like environment. Our nursing home has small cluster units with two dedicated dementia care units. Our personal care residence offers apartment style accommodations in single bedroom or studio style with generous common space, well maintained and accessible outdoor spaces as well. During over 40 years of providing long term care services for the elderly in the west central Pennsylvania region we have served hundreds of residents and their families with our Mission focused ministry.
