    Employees Training: A. Orientation to the facility and its residents B. Facility program description, policies and procedures C. Health and emergency procedures, including fire safety D. Abuse reporting policy within 60 days of hire. E. All staff who assist residents with personal activities of daily living shall receive at least ten (10) hours training within the first 4 weeks of employment which include: a) Two (2) hours - Aging process and physical limitations and special needs of the elderly b) Three (3) hours - Importance and techniques of personal care services including, but not limited to bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting and universal precautions On-The-Job-Training A. Principles of good nutrition, good food preparation and storage, and menu planning Housekeeping and sanitation principles B. Skills and knowledge required providing necessary resident care and supervision, including the ability to communicate with residents C. Knowledge required to safely assist with prescribed medications which are self-administered D. Knowledge necessary in order to recognize early signs of illness and the need for professional help. E. Knowledge of community services and resources F. Reporting requirements G. Documentation and charting E. Abuse prevention and reporting H. Residents Rights I. Prohibited and restricted health conditions J Residents' rights K) Two (2) hours - Policies and procedures regarding medications L) Psychosocial needs of the elderly, such as recreation, companionship, independence, etc. M) Recognizing signs and symptoms of dementia in individuals
