Senior Home Sharing, Inc. is a non profit organization whose mission is to provide seniors, age 62 and over, with an opportunity to live independently in a safe, affordable, family-style home. Senior Home Sharing offers four private homes and one apartment complex located in DuPage County, Illinois. Residences are located in residential neighborhoods of Lombard, Elmhurst, Downers Grove and Naperville. Each of our residences can accommodate between 6 and 7 older adults. All of our homes are located within residential neighborhoods and are close to shopping, parks, senior centers, libraries and community services. Seniors rent a private room within one of our homes and furnish it with their own belongings. Common areas of the home such as the kitchen, living room, family room and porch or patio areas are shared by the residents. Each home has a full-time, live-in house manager who oversees the activities of the home, does the grocery shopping, prepares family style meals, and provides housekeeping and laundry services for the residents. All of our residents are independent, although they may have chronic illnesses and/or disabilities that preclue them from living alone. Our residents are provided with support by our director of resident services who assists residents and their families by linking them to the community services they need in order to remain independent.
