    About My Business
Elderwise is a multipurpose human services organization dedicated to elders. We are a model adult day center combined with associated offsite and educational programs and policy advocacy whose goal is no less than transforming the culture of aging. The foundation of our work is to serve the frail elder and enable caregivers, family members and healthcare professionals to recognize the value and wholeness of all the aged
    About My Services
Open Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm, our Day Program meets the need for social interaction by providing compassionate, respectful, and spirit-centered care; therapeutic-meaningful activity; and supported community. We offer a high staff-to-participant ratio and a schedule of activities designed to provide a calming, yet engaging flow to the day. Participants have the opportunity to express themselves through watercolor art, clay sculpture, and facilitated discussion. They also take part in gentle exercise and share a nutritious lunch.

Families also benefit from the Elderwise Day Program. They gain respite and the peace of mind that comes with knowing their loved one is in a safe, therapeutic program. In addition, witnessing the Elderwise Day Program in action provides family caregivers with additional ways to enhance the way they interact with loved ones at home.

“Elderwise staff is the glue that holds us together during the process of Alzheimer’s.” – an Elderwise participant’s family member
Conditions I Am Unable To Treat
Elderwise provides an adult day program for those with early to mid-stage dementia seeking creative outlet and community. We do not have a medical staff so we are not able to administer medication.
    Experience And Credentials
Elderwise staff members hold degrees ins art, physical therapy, medicine and science.
Elderwise began in 1997 as a small grassroots organization operating one day a week in the home of its director. Since then, Elderwise has moved into its own facility, grown exponentially and now serves hundreds of frail individuals living in a wide variety of settings. We have also become an important resource for long-term care providers who wish to enhance the care they provide to their charges or family members. Elderwise is considered a model program by the Washington Health Foundation and is a member of the Washington Leading Age.
