    Mr. Armstrong is admitted as a member of the Florida Bar, United States Middle District Court, United States 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and additionally certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a County Court Mediator. Mr. Armstrong graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in 1999. He has published several articles in the area of Elder Law and Estate Planning and has spoken to many groups on these subjects.     Mr. Armstrong is a former Marine Vietnam veteran. Prior to the law firm, Mr. Armstrong was a senior level executive in the healthcare industry. This experience was entrepreneurial, involving business start-up, funding, management and acquisition of several medical manufacturing/distribution companies. Before this, Mr. Armstrong was employed in management by some of the largest healthcare companies in the country.

    His principal office in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida is located on the top floor of the Veranda C building on Highway A1A. The location is a little less than a quarter mile from the TPC golf course and just a quarter mile south of the Marriott Sawgrass entrance on A1A. The office is roughly twenty miles east of downtown Jacksonville, Florida.

    As a convenience to his estate planning clients, Mr. Armstrong meets with clients in his office in Ponte Vedra Beach or at the client's home/office. His normal office hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, evenings and weekends by appointment.

    For all other legal matters, Mr. Armstrong is additionally available outside his office.

    LEGAL FEES

    Hourly Fees

    We usually charge hourly fees. Each staff member involved in a given matter keeps track of his or her time, and bills at a predetermined rate. The normal hourly rates charged by each staff member are:
    • Dan Armstrong, Attorney -- $250/hr.
    • Legal Clerk/Paralegal -- $80/hr
    Work is billed in segments of one-tenth of an hour (six minutes), with a minimum of six minutes for each activity. Travel time is also bill at our normal hourly rates, unless we are able to bill another client for other work performed while traveling. Hourly fees (and out of pocket expenses) are billed each month. Since we consider these items our overhead, we do not bill for normal long distance charges, computer research costs, photocopies, normal first class postage, or secretarial overtime. We do bill for out-of-pocket expenses for filing fees and courier services (such as Federal Express or local delivery services when necessary) and other such related expenses.

    Initial in-office consultation fees of $100 will be waived if we are engaged at the end of the consultation on any new matter.

    FLAT FEES

    Some activities are charged at a flat rate, rather than hourly. This is intended to provide clients with certainty about the final fee, and to encourage clients to make contact as necessary (without worrying about increases in the bill for each contact). On activities listed below that have a range that depends on complexity, we enter into an engagement letter with our client for our hourly rate with a floor on the total fees equal to the lowest number and cap on the total fees equal to the higher number.
