    About My Business
Founded in 1896, VOA-MN provides a broad array of community-based services for seniors, including legal, caregiver support, mental health, senior center, nutrition, adult day-care, culturally-specific programming and assisted living, serving over 15,000 seniors throughout the state in 2007, primarily in the Twin Cities Metro area. The Protective Service and Care Management staff are widely recognized for providing information, referral and assessment to the most vulnerable and incapacitated members of the community. This includes serving familial caregivers, as well as training and supporting professionals who serve these older adults.
    About My Services
Volunteers of America of Minnesota geriatric care managers offer high caliber, intensive care management and consultation services for older adults and their families. We provide objective multi-dimensional assessments that clarify an elder’s needs and reduce conflict. We have been helpful to families, attorneys, trust departments and guardians/conservators in providing short-term consultation services and ongoing monitoring and service coordination.

Our care managers have over 55 years of combined experience working with cognitively impaired clients and their families and specialize in working with families and individuals who have been impacted by dementia. We work to balance respect for self-determination with concerns for safety and always honor an older person’s rights, values and lifestyle.

As part of a diverse organization providing services to older adults, we are uniquely able to utilize our colleagues’ expertise in areas such as elder law and mental health to assist in developing appropriate care plans.

Volunteers of America of Minnesota’s nonprofit status offers our care managers the ability to focus specifically on the clients' needs rather than on revenue generated. Our goal is to ensure our clients’ safety, health and overall well-being without fostering unnecessary dependence on the geriatric care manager’s services.
