    About My Business
    Friends Club is a therapeutic social day program designed to enhance the lives of men with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia and to provide respite and support for caregivers.
    About My Services
    The Friends Club program offers
    • reminiscing and other memory stimulating activities
    • current events discussions
    • music therapy
    • guest lecturers and entertainers
    • peer support, fellowship, and friendship
    • physical exercise
    • morning refreshments and lunch
    • holiday events

    Club size is limited to twelve members per meeting, ensuring that members and volunteers have ample opportunity to develop friendships in a relaxed setting crafted to encourage interaction and discussion. Meetings are facilitated by two professional staff members and three fully trained volunteers.
    Friends Club also hosts caregiver support group meetings twice monthly, and provides caregivers with regular updates regarding care ideas and current research.
    Conditions I Am Unable To Treat
    Friends Club accepts members in the early stages of dementia. Members must be able to walk and use the restroom unaided. Friends Club does not administer medications.
    Experience And Credentials
    Friends Club is a member of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
    The Executive Director and the Program Director are both experienced in the care of seniors and attend educational events offered by local hospitals and through the Alzheimer's Association's National Capital Area Chapter.
    Friends Club has been recognized by Maryland's Arts for the Aging, Inc. as a model partner.
    Fees And Payment Sources Accepted
    The cost of membership is $65 per club meeting, and registration is renewed monthly. Scholarship assistance is available.
