2018 Living with Alzhimer's: Hope for the Journey There are now more than 5.4 million Americans and 340,000 Texans living with Alzheimer’s disease. This figure includes 5.2 million Americans 65 and older and approximately 200,000 under age 65 with younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. and the 5th leading cause of death for those over age 65. To help address the educational needs of the community, the Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter presentsthe 2018Living with Alzheimer's: Hope for theJourney Caregiver Conference. We will hear from key note speakers Jim and Geri Taylor, who presented at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference and were featured in the article "Fraying at the Edges" in theNew York Times. Geri was diagnosed at the early stages of Alzheimer’s and Geri and Jim are determined to continue to live life to the fullest and share their experience with everyone. Along with Geri and Jim we will hear from local professionals and have access to local resources. This is an event you donn't want to miss!
