The purpose of early-stage support groups is to provide a safe and supportive environment of peers who are living in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia and the care partners. These groups offer dementia-related education, emotional support and connections with resources so that the group members may enhance their lives in the midst of the disease.

Additional Information

This is not a drop-in group, pre-screening is required prior to registration. Early stage support groups are for the individual with a physician's diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder, who is mildly affected by their symptoms, and wants to talk about their diagnosis and symptoms with others in a group setting. Details on location, date and time are provided when pre-screening and registration are complete. Most early stage groups include a concurrent group for a care partner of individuals attending this early stage group. Groups are facilitated by compassionate, knowledgeable professionals. For information, please call Judy Filippoff at (800) 272-3900. Groups are available throughout the Bay Area.
