Overview of Service

We Do Home Care Differently! Home Care Assistance has a unique approach to caring for older adults. Each client chooses their own carefully screened caregiver, and there is no contract required. We offer a level of flexibility and service quality that is unmatched in the industry. Our caregivers are trained in our revolutionary Balanced Care Method™, a proprietary home care approach based on the scientific studies of the lifestyle factors of the healthiest and longest living seniors of Okinawa, Japan. The Balanced Care Method™ goes beyond the basics of home care by promoting healthy nutrition, physical exercise, mental stimulation, social ties and a purposeful life. The Balanced Care Method™ includes the proprietary Cognitive Therapeutics Method™. This in-home program, developed by a geriatric care manager, clinical psychologists and a neuropsychologist is the first of its kind in the home care industry and is designed specifically to increase brain health and to help prevent and slow cognitive decline for the clients we serve. Utilizing the program’s more than 300 interventions and activities, older adults enjoy daily, one on one, professional memory care therapy sessions without leaving home. We conduct a complimentary, comprehensive, in-home assessment in order to understand your needs and abilities, the home environment and the level of family involvement in order to create an individualized plan of care. Caregivers can help on an hourly or 24/7 basis and assist with any or all of the following: Household chores such as laundry and dishwashing Bathing, dressing, grooming and incontinence Nutritious meal preparation in accordance with dietary preferences Mobility and range of motion exercises Medication reminders and prescription pick-up Transportation for errands and medical appointments Companionship and emotional support.

Please know that the Community Resource Finder is purely an informational tool. This means that the Alzheimer’s Association and AARP do not vet, evaluate, recommend or endorse any particular provider. Providers are solely responsible for keeping their information current. Although the data is expected to be reliable, users are advised to verify it independently, as it can change, and it is not guaranteed to be complete and accurate. Visit our tips section for guidance on evaluating and choosing options that best suit your needs.

The Community Resource Finder is powered by HealthlinkDimensions, which aggregates and maintains basic information about licensed senior service providers in the U.S. from several hundred sources at the federal, state, and local levels as well as through senior service membership organizations. Basic information about non-licensed providers is collected from private sources. Information is collected when providers complete a free Provider Profile, outlining the care and services they offer. HealthlinkDimensions is solely responsible for this activity. Additionally, program information from the Alzheimer’s Association and AARP is compiled.
