The purpose of early-stage support groups is to provide a safe and supportive environment of peers who are living in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia and the care partners. These groups offer dementia-related education, emotional support and connections with resources so that the group members may enhance their lives in the midst of the disease.

Memory Makers provides educational, emotional, and social support to individuals living with early-stage memory loss and their family care partners.The group is hosted byDuke Dementia Family Support Program, with speakers from Duke, UNC and the Triangle professional community.The six-week group meets on Thursday afternoons and is offered in person in Durham in the spring, summer and fall.
