Now in its ninth year, the Long Island Chapter's annual Alzheimer's & Dementia Conference is a day of education, support and uplifting motivation for family caregivers. As hosts of this event, our goal is to create a platform from which caregivers can learn the skills necessary to provide quality care for a person with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. We seek to provide a comprehensive overview of local supportive services, by bringing them directly to caregivers through our participating exhibitors. The conference is an inspiring day that can be a life-changing experience for a caregiver, and in turn, their loved one.Morning Workshops Include: - Contemporary Treatments for Agitation in Alzheimer’s Patients: What Works and What Does Not-Caring for Yourself and Others: Understanding and Managing Grief and Loss-Understanding the Link Between Hearing Loss and Alzheimer’s Afternoon Workshops Include: - Dementia and Driving: A Roadmap and Safety Guide for Caregivers- Caring for Me - Patient Advocacy: Legal Aspects of Maximizing HealthcareTo register, please call our 24/7 Helpline at (800)272-3900.
