This education series teaches caregivers how to navigate the responsibilities of caring for someone living with dementia. Topics include tips for understanding key aspects of caregiving, supporting independence, communicating effectively, responding to dementia-related behaviors and exploring care and support services.
Join us as we explore how dementia affects communication, including tips for
communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals. We will also
discuss some of the common behavior changes related to dementia and how they are a
form of communication. We look at non-medical approaches to challenging situations
to help caregivers feel more confident, and their loved one feel more content. We also
review resources from the Alzheimer’s Association to help.
