As people living with dementia progress in their journey and lose the ability to use words, caregivers can discover new ways to communicate effectively in any stage of the disease. Learn how dementia affects communication, how person-centered approaches can improve communication and much more.
Part of the Empowered Caregiver Series:Communicating Effectively with People with Dementia
Alexandra Morris, Alzheimer's Association Community Educator volunteer and geriatric care manager, will share with us about tips for communicating with people with dementia, enhancing your ability to listen, adapt quickly and respond with empathy in unpredictable situations. Learn to encourage validation of a loved ones' expressions and emotions while fostering more meaningful and positive interactions.
This class is open to caregivers and the general public to support those with dementia and their care partners/caregivers.
