This is a morning of education, support and uplifting motivation for caregivers. As hosts of this event, our goal is to create a platform from which caregivers can learn the skills necessary to provide quality care for a person with dementia. Join us from 9am-12pm for a presentation on Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia followed by a workshop from Syracuse Jewish Family Services. Led by Hannah Pietra, MS, LCAT, MT-BC, CLC, this workshop will explore how engaging in creative activities can help caregivers support their well-being to manage stress, prevent burnout, and build resiliency. Participants will learn about the science behind creativity and well-being, how creative activities impact our body and brain, and will be given examples of creative self-care. A large portion of the workshop will engage participants in hands-on music and art activities to support relaxation, self expression, and reflection. Conference is free. Space is limited. Advanced registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.
