Research shows there are everyday habits you can build today to help protect your memory and thinking as you get older – even reducing your risk of cognitive decline and possibly dementia. Join us to learn about healthy habits for your brain; the brain-heart connection; why brain health is important at all ages, and how to build your personalized action plan for brain-healthy habits.

What happens to the brain during Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia? This session explores the science behind cognitive decline, including how changes in the brain affect memory, thinking, and daily function. We'll also discuss research from the groundbreaking U.S. POINTER study and other emerging evidence showing that healthy lifestyle choices may help reduce risk factors associated with cognitive decline. Learn why brain health matters at every age and discover the encouraging science behind prevention and risk reduction.

These programs are offered through the Capital District YMCA Guilderland Branch, located at 250 Winding Brook Drive, Guilderland, NY 12084.
